Volunteer River Cleanup

Come join us for a day of community, conservation, and canoeing as we embark on a mission to keep the White River watershed of Indianapolis wild and wonderful! In collaboration with Friends of White River, Frank’s Livery proudly presents the Annual Wallet Island and Butterfly Island Tidy Up, an exciting opportunity for nature enthusiasts and environmental advocates to make a real difference in the heart of our city.

Our beloved White River is a valuable natural resource that deserves our care and attention. During high water levels, two beautiful islands, Wallet Island and Butterfly Island, often accumulate litter and debris, threatening the pristine beauty of the river and its delicate ecosystem. But together, we can make a difference!

This guided clean-up event is designed to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all volunteers. Our experienced team will provide you with canoes, safety gear, and instructions on how to navigate the river. No prior canoeing experience is necessary, making this event suitable for individuals and families of all ages and skill levels.

From 12:30-4:30pm, launching from Frank’s Paddlesports Livery. If you have your own canoe/watercraft and want to participate – just email [email protected]

Join us afterwards for a campfire, beverage and some grub.
